The island of Korcula offers a unique combination of spectacular nature, ancient cultural traditions and modern tourism. The island is full of beautiful bays and beaches, olive groves and vineyards that have lived for many years, unique restaurants and holiday homes, a beautiful old town and old villas. Most visitors go to Korcula for a few days while others go on a day trip, mainly from Dubrovnik. Featuring gentle, low hills with smaller and larger fields, this island is an ideal destination for hiking and biking. While most travelers hike and bike in this area, there are plenty of other great outdoor activities well worth doing. Here’s what to see and do on the island of Korcula in Croatia.

Peaceful country roads and scenic trails make the island of Korcula an ideal destination for cycling and mountain biking. Although there are no specific routes for cycling on this island, the cycling facilities available and the small paths that cross olive groves and vineyards – some of which guarantee incredible views – make this place a amazing for biking and biking. Apart from the island of Korcula, this grape variety is grown only in Lumbarda and nowhere else. Travelers can try local wines in some of the many wine bars located in Korcula town.

The kayaking here starts from the western part of Korcula town through the Franciscan Monastery of St. Nicholas towards the old city walls. Babina Bay

Located on the northern side of the island of Korcula, Babina was an ancient village whose main activities and sources of income were agriculture and fishing. Today it is urbanized, and it is a beautiful place to visit. The bay offers pleasant and deep shade from the olive trees located near the seaside. Travelers should note that although this bay is urbanized, they should bring their own refreshments as there are no restaurants and cafes around .

Marco Polo Museum

Built in 1323, the Marco Polo Museum is the perfect place to discover a whole range of cultural delights that the island of Korcula has to offer. The museum is named after the famous Marco Polo, who is said to have been born and raised in Korcula. Travelers will have the chance to explore his epic tours, which mostly took place along the Silk Road – all available at this incredible museum.
