What awaits the Croatian tourism sector this season, after the pandemic?
May 18, 2021 – What will this season be like for the Croatian tourism sector and what awaits the pandemic-devastated industry when the vaccination rollout finally ends the ongoing coronavirus pandemic? These are just a few of the many questions hanging over the season, the seasons to come and all of the countries that rely heavily on tourism – Croatia included.
As Novac / Barbara Ban writes, a look at how the Croatian tourism sector will develop after the end of the pandemic, what awaits the country this season and the impact of the development of transport infrastructure on tourist flows are all topics that will be discussed by traffic and tourism experts on Tuesday. .
From 10:00 a.m., the “Spring & Tourism Masterclass” conference will be held, organized by Jutarnji list and Edward Bernays University in Zagreb.
It is a project that, through a series of scientific and professional round tables, will bring together prominent Croatian and foreign experts and scientists in the field of communication and tourism management, as well as other people, men of business and dignitaries from various walks of life. life that contribute to the development of these two areas or have a significant impact on them.
After the introductory presentation by the director of the Institute of Tourism, Damir Kresic, two round tables will take place. The first will be on the theme of post-pandemic tourism, and will be given by Kristjan Stanicic, the director of the main office of the Croatian National Tourism Board, Josipa Jutt Ferlan, the director of the Hilton Hotel Cluster, Tomislav Fain, the president of the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies, Kresimir Dabo, responsible for tourism (Bernays), and Damir Kresic, director of the Institute of Tourism.
After that, a round table will be held on the theme of the importance of transport infrastructure for the development of Croatian tourism and the participants will be the Minister of Transport Oleg Butkovic, doc. dr. sc. Marko Slavulj, Head of the Department of Urban Transport Technology at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Zagreb, Boris Huzjan, Director of HAC, and Djuro Lubura, a leading expert in new technologies. This round table will be chaired by journalist Kresimir Zabec.
The conference will be held live at Edward Bernays University in Zagreb without the presence of an audience due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation.
