The Prime Minister receives representatives of five national sports federations

ZAGREB, June 27, 2022 – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković received representatives of five national sports federations at the Government House on Monday, and they discussed, among other things, the importance of investing in the development of sports and sports facilities, said the government said in a press release.

The meeting with Plenković was attended by Minister of Finance Zdravko Marić and Minister of Tourism and Sports Nikolina Brnjac.

“Prime Minister Plenković underlined the many best results of Croatian athletes, who for years have been one of the most important promoters of Croatia in the world, and their successes also contribute to strengthening national identity and pride”, says the press release.

Sports representatives expressed their satisfaction with all that has been done so far in the field of sport and welcomed the government’s initiative to draft a new sports law, last amended in 2006.

Plenković said the government would continue to provide financial support for the sport. He stressed that the popularization of sport is important for Croatian society, especially among children and young people, as it has a positive effect on the adoption of values ​​of a healthy lifestyle and encourages discipline and socialization. .
