The first weekend of May, more than 157,000 overnight stays in Croatia
41,400 tourists arrived in Croatia on the first weekend of May and over 157,000 overnight stays were made. According to the eVisitor system, which contains tourist traffic generated in commercial and non-commercial facilities and the nautical charter (eCrew system), in Croatia during the first weekend of May, 41,400 arrivals and more than 157,000 overnight stays. Of this total, foreign tourists accounted for nearly 23,000 arrivals and 112,000 overnight stays.
During the weekend, most of the tourist overnight stays were made in Istria, Kvarner, Split-Dalmatia County and Zadar County, and looking at the destinations, most of the overnight stays were made in Rovinj, Zagreb, Poreč , Zadar, Dubrovnik, Mali Lošinj and Split. In terms of markets, during the weekend the highest number of overnight stays were made by domestic customers, followed by customers from Slovenia, Poland and Germany, and in terms of type of accommodation, most overnight stays were made in hotels, camps and household facilities.
In the first four months of 2021, more than 2 million tourist overnight stays were made in Croatia.
Between January and the end of April, there were 592,000 tourist arrivals and over 2 million overnight stays in Croatia. Most overnight stays were made in Istria, Kvarner and Split-Dalmatia County, and looking at destinations in Zagreb, Rovinj, Split, Zadar, Poreč, Opatija and Dubrovnik. Most of the overnight stays were made by German, Slovenian, Bosnian, Italian, Czech, Austrian and American tourists.
“Despite the pandemic circumstances still present, we have four months of success behind us with more than 2 million overnight stays. Croatia is recognized as a responsible and safe tourist destination, which confirms all our efforts to create optimal preconditions for tourists and our fellow citizens ”, said Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac.
