Stock indices of the Zagreb stock exchange lose 2% in a bear market, Dalekovod soars
ZAGREB (Croatia), February 14 (SeeNews) – The main stock indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) fell nearly 2% on Monday in a bear market, as the 10 most liquid stocks fell, according to data from the stock Exchange.
The biggest winner of the day was power transmission equipment manufacturer Dalekovod [ZSE:DLKV]. Its share price jumped 13.78% to 44.60 kuna on Monday after the company said on Friday it had repaid its debts under a pre-bankruptcy settlement from 2014, becoming the one of the few companies in Croatia to have succeeded in such a settlement.
The CROBEX index of 21 blue-chip stocks plunged 1.94% to end at 2,122.72 points.
The narrower CROBEX10 index, which tracks the top ten companies by free float, market capitalization and liquidity, ended down 1.89% at 1,294.03 points.
Shares of fertilizer producer Petrokemija [ZSE:PTKM] jumped 9.72% to 31.60 kuna on Monday as the company said it would pay compensation of 33.86 kuna per share to all shareholders who vote against its delisting from the Zagreb stock exchange.
Atlantska Plovidba shipping company [ZSE:ATPL] was the most liquid stock in regular trading, contributing 1.7 million kuna ($255,000/226,000 euros) to ZSE’s total turnover on Monday. Its share price fell by 4.59% to end at 416 kuna.
Shares of blue chip company Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] fell by 0.80% to end at 186 kuna in regular trade with a turnover of 1.5 million kuna. In addition, 75,000 of its shares changed hands in a block transaction at a price of 186 kuna for a turnover of nearly 14 million kuna.
Shares of food and pharmaceutical producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] fell by 2.63% to 666 kuna for a turnover of 1.3 million kuna.
In decline in turnover, the shares of the hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] fell by 2.60% to 33.70 kuna. The company announced on Monday that it would invest 15 million euros ($17 million) to increase the salaries and bonus programs of its 7,000 employees in Croatia, with the aim of making them equal to the salaries of the main tourist destinations. Europeans.
The total turnover of the ZSE reached 26.3 million kuna from 7.9 million kuna on Friday.
