Mali Lošinj named one of the world’s best green and sustainable destinations
ZAGREB, October 7, 2021 – The town of Mali Lošinj on the island of Lošinj was included once once again among the world’s leading green and sustainable destinations.
Mali Lošinj was named on the list of the top 100 green and sustainable destinations in the world published by the international organization Green Destination.
The Sustainable Top 100 Destinations competition is organized to showcase sustainable tourism stories and good practices and to share inspiring examples with other destinations, tour operators and travelers.
The small Croatian town has been on the list for several years and also competed this year in the “Culture & Communities” category with a monument to the island’s naval tradition, the lugger Nerezinac, which has been restored and transformed into a center of ‘interpretation, the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board said.
The wooden sailboat is now an open-air museum and another tourist attraction on the island. said the tourist office.
Two other Croatian destinations were also on the list – the Lika cluster and Istria with the theme “Palud – Protection of biodiversity in small-scale wetlands” in the category “Nature and ecotourism”.
