If you are planning to travel to Europe this summer, know that Europe is home to some of the best beaches, seas and oceans. Especially if you are in Italy, Croatia or any of the other countries that surround the Adriatic Sea, this is a fantastic place to get out in the water and explore the area.

The climate is fantastic and there are many places to visit on all sides of the Adriatic Sea. Getting a private yacht may seem difficult, but it’s easier than you think. Here’s what you need to know to choose the right yacht for your expedition.

Choose a yacht

The yachts are available in many different sizes and they all offer unique services. Choosing the right one for your needs can be a bit confusing. The first thing to consider to help you narrow down your search is the number of people you will be traveling with. Some yachts can only accommodate 5 to 6 people while others can accommodate several dozen. Second, consider the specific equipment you will need. If you’re just traveling from point A to point B, you’ll only get the essentials, but if you’re planning to spend several days on board, you’ll need a yacht designed to accommodate people for whole days.

Get a crew

Managing a yacht involves more than just having a captain who can take you where you want to go. Especially if you are buying a larger yacht and want to accommodate a large group of friends, you will need a suitable crew. When you charter a luxury yacht, there is no crew; you have to hire a crew separately. However, you must ensure that the person you hire is qualified to operate that specific type of yacht and that you have all the necessary personnel on board. This is something your broker can help you with if you don’t already know what to look for and how to go about it.

Paperwork

When chartering a yacht, there is also a fair amount of paperwork to sort out before you can board. The rental agreement is one of the basic things, but you also need to make sure that you and the people traveling with you are cleared to land at your destination. This can include obtaining visas, obtaining medical clearance, obtaining any type of permit, and a host of other legal requirements. Be sure to address these issues with your yacht contract.

Traveling by yacht is a unique experience that is very different from traveling on a cruise ship. Especially when you have all your favorite people with you and having a great time in a private space with stunning views and great service, it’s a surreal experience. The Adriatic Sea is well known for its incredible sunsets, and although it looks beautiful from land, it looks completely different when you see it from the sea. There are also many islands in the Adriatic Sea that you can visit and which will be a great place to spend a day or two.
