Four Paul Pogba replacements Man Utd can sign without spending a dime | Soccer | sport

Paul Pogba has a big decision to make at the end of the season when his contract at Manchester United expires. The Frenchman has interests from Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain and could leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

United are facing the fact that they could lose Pogba for nothing at the end of the season.

His contract is set to expire which means the France international will become a free agent and could leave for nothing.

It’s a dramatic loss on the £89m the Red Devils spent on him in 2016, while Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all sniff around the midfield.

Signing a replacement could cost United millions – but there are other options.

Here are four players who could save the club from spending anything.

Franck Kessie – AC Milan

Kessie has been linked with United throughout the season as a player who could strengthen his midfield – something he desperately needs.

The 25-year-old’s contract at AC Milan is due to expire this summer and he has already told them he plans to leave.

Tottenham desperately tried to sign the Ivory Coast international in January only to have his agent turn down their appeals, meaning his targets are higher.

And United would be the perfect place for a player looking to take their game to the next level.

Boubacar Kamara – Marseilles

Warning: there will be a feeding frenzy for Kamara’s signing ahead of the summer with a host of clubs chasing him.

The Frenchman is out of contract at Marseille at the end of the season and has already attracted the attention of Chelsea, Newcastle, Leeds United, West Ham, AS Roma, AC Milan and Paris Saint Germain are all interested .

United are also in the running but will likely find themselves embroiled in a bidding war as the midfielder and his agent pit clubs against each other for the best offer.

Marcelo Brozovic – Inter Milano

While it’s been widely speculated that Brozovic will sign a new contract at Inter Milan, the Croatian is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

United could rush before the midfielder’s pen hits paper and make him an offer that would be too good to turn down.

While the 29-year-old’s best years may be behind him, the former Dinamo Zagreb star is renowned for being a jack-of-all-trades – creative in midfield, tenacious in defense and exquisite in attack – and would be a worthy Pogba replacement.

Liverpool were close to signing the Croatia international only for talks to simmer, but a move to the Premier League could be a huge temptation.

Hannibal Mejbri – United

If United want to look a little closer to home, there is perhaps no better option than Hannibal – fresh out of AFCON after representing Tunisia – his father’s country of birth.

The midfielder has been tipped to be the next big star in the Red Devils’ academy with him as a playmaker with plenty of pizzazz – does that sound familiar?

Despite being only 19, the youngster still has a lot to learn but Ralf Rangnick has already contributed to his development by bringing him into the first team this season.

Breaking into the first team is the next step and directly replacing Pogba might be a step too far – but it would be a smart long-term move by United.
