Croatia hit by Ivan Perisic after positive advanced tests for coronavirus
Ivan Perisic has tested positive for Covid-19, the Croatian Football Federation announced on Saturday evening.
Inter Milan winger Perisic scored in Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over Scotland, which secured him a place in the last 16 as England’s finalist in Group D.
The 32-year-old will now spend 10 days in isolation and will therefore not be available for Monday’s game against Spain in Copenhagen.
The Croatian Football Federation said all other players, staff and members of the delegation tested negative.
A statement on the CFF website read: “On Saturday evening the Croatian Football Association received the results of regular tests for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which showed that player Ivan Perisic tested positive for the virus. new coronavirus.
“The medical staff isolated Ivan from other members of the national team and immediately and fully informed the relevant epidemiological authorities of the situation, providing evidence of compliance with all necessary measures aimed at protecting against the spread of the coronavirus.
“Perisic will spend 10 days in isolation and during this period will not participate in the matches of the Croatian national team.
“All other players, staff and members of the delegation have tested negative.
“The national team will depart Pula on Sunday 27 June with a charter flight to Copenhagen, where they will play a UEFA EURO 2020 round of 16 game against Spain on Monday.”
