Croatia announces best summer ever for tourism revenue

ZAGREB, January 1, 2022 – Croatia generated more income from foreign tourists in the summer months of 2021 than in the past, the Tourism Ministry confirmed in a statement. declaration Friday.

According to the Croatian National Bank (CNB), in the third quarter of 2021, during the summer months of July, August and September, the income of foreign tourists amounted to 6 billion and 775 million euros, which represents a 100 percent growth in revenue generated. during the same period in 2020, or 3 billion and 386 million euros more.

Compared to the third quarter of 2019, which was a record year for Croatian tourism, a revenue growth of 2% was achieved, which is 148 million euros more generated than in the third quarter of 2019, where 6 billion d euros and 627 million in income had been generated.

In the first nine months of 2021, the revenues of foreign tourists amounted to 8 billion and 268 million euros, which represents a 90% growth of the revenue generated during the same period in 2020, or 3 billion and 929 million euros more.

Compared to the first nine months of 2019, 88% of that year’s revenue was generated during the same period in 2021.

“? Not only are we close to 2019 in terms of turnover in this tourism year, but we have also achieved the best results so far during the summer months. Namely, with almost 6.8 billion euros in income from foreign tourists, this summer is the most successful tourist summer in Croatia to date and we can all be proud of it ”, said the Minister of Tourism and Sports. Nikolina Brnjac.

“During 2021 Croatia has built the image of a safe destination and we have to keep working on it,” Brnjac added before wishing everyone a happy new year.
