September 15, 2021 – After the opening of the first MGallery hotel in Split, the world leader in hospitality and catering Accor has signed a contract with Split Peninsula Properties doo to open the first Mövenpick hotel in Croatia. The Mövenpick Split hotel will welcome its first guests in spring 2023.
Accor continues to expand its portfolio in Croatia and across the region. Through the partnership with Split Peninsula Properties doo and the development team of MPPD doo, the group will place another leading brand in its favorite tourist destination – the city of Split. The new Mövenpick Split hotel will have 156 excellent and comfortable rooms with sea views, two restaurants and a spa, as well as an innovative working space and conference room. The hotel will also have 110 underground and above-ground parking spaces and numerous charging stations for electric vehicles. The brightest pearls of Mövenpick Hotel Split will be the unique rooftop restaurant, lounge and terrace with infinity pool. As the first space of its kind in Split and Dalmatia, this resort will undoubtedly become a favorite spot for guests who want to taste the most delicious Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with upscale design. It is a truly versatile destination available at all times that will delight hotel and domestic clients as well as tourists who come to Split. Mövenpick Split will open in the second quarter of 2023 on Žnjan Beach, one of the most famous spots in Split.
“We are delighted to be able to present another hotel in one of the most prestigious locations in Dalmatia and thereby strengthen our portfolio in the leisure facilities segment of the region. Mövenpick continues to experience strong growth across Eastern Europe through the continued expansion of its premier resort offerings and leisure facilities. Moreover, the unique history and magnificent design of the Mövenpick Split complex will invite guests to relax and enjoy a perfect Mediterranean location. Accor hotels are known for their superior vacation experience and personal approach to each guest, and we look forward to our guests in 2023, ”said Dilek Sezer, Accor Group Development Director for South Eastern Europe.
The new Mövenpick Split hotel project was designed by award-winning local architect Alan Pleština of studio Pulsar Arhitektura in collaboration with Accor’s design and technical services team. Pleština is the author of some of the most successful projects implemented in Croatia, including projects for the Arena shopping center complex and the Arena Zagreb sports hall, which have won international design awards. The hotel is modern but at the same time exudes luxury and affordability and is a perfect design inspired by the bustling space of Split’s Pazar.
When it comes to roof design, Mövenpick Split has teamed up with internationally renowned and award-winning Dubai interior designer Kristina Zanić, who has experience in creating spaces in major tourist destinations of the world. Kristina and her team have created an all day experience with an emphasis on design, in which the hotel will be able to offer the best of healthy Mediterranean cuisine. The rich colors of the coast and the inspiration drawn from the famous Dalmatian sunset are the main features of the restaurant and bar, unique in the region. There is no doubt that this will become an “IT” place in Split in the years to come.
“The partnership with Accor fits perfectly with our vision and our philosophy of creating comfortable and exclusive places for hotel guests and the local community. We are proud to bring such a brand to Split and all over Dalmatia. With a focus on food and drink, an exceptional customer experience and a rich portfolio of services, we are sure that Mövenpick Split will win everyone’s sympathy, ”added Andrija Antić on behalf of SPP and MPPD doo
